1. Getting Started
Getting started consists of 4 steps: accessing FreeSurferWiki, creating a WikiUserName, creating a WikiHomePage on the Wiki, and subscribing to the fswiki mailing list. If you're reading this page on the wiki you can skip the first step.
1.1. Accessing FreeSurferWiki
Go to https://surfer.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/fswiki. Please note the s in https
A login window will pop up with the title 'Secure FSWiki Area'. Login with you NMR Center username and password. If the window does not accept your login contact firstname.lastname@example.org
1.2. Creating your Wiki Account
Click on the link at top right which says 'UserPreferences'. (If instead of 'UserPreferences' in the top right corner it says a WikiUserName that is not your own (e.g., JaneSmith) then a user is already logged into that browser and you need to log that user out. You can logout that user by clicking on the WikiUserName link at top right, and then clicking on the 'Logout' button. You can now click on the 'UserPreferences' link.)
Enter your WikiUserName and a password, and click on the 'Create Profile' button. For security reasons, your wiki password should be different from your NMR Center password. Click on WikiUserName to find out what your WikiUserName is.
1.3. Creating your WikiHomePage
You should now create your WikiHomePage. You can create your WikiHomePage by going to https://surfer.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/fswiki/JaneSmith where JaneSmith is your WikiUserName. (Click on BruceFischl to see an example WikiHomePage.)
Click on HomepageTemplate and then fill out the information. When you're done press the 'Save Changes' button. You can then click on RecentChanges to see that your modification has been added to the Wiki. Congratulations! You've just made your first contribution to the Wiki.
1.4. Subscribing to wiki mailing list
You should also subscribe to the fswiki mailing list by going to http://mail.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/mailman/listinfo/fswiki. The fswiki mailing list provides a forum to discuss the FreeSurferWiki.
