What is the difference between the Update and Full version?
The Full version is for installing a brand new version of FreeSurfer. It includes binaries, support files, and sample data, including talairach data and MINC binaries.

The Update version contains only binaries and support files that change from version to version. It contains a script that will compare each one to the version you have installed and if different, backup the existing version and copy in the new version. However it should only be used if you have a working installation already.

The Full version is about twice as big a download as the Update version.
